True to my word, I gave Shelly Gray a second try by reading her book
A Texan's Honor. Although she had a great premise and no sagging middle, I'm sad to say I will never be reading her novels again. In her efforts to make her outlaws realistic, she chose vocabulary that I don't repeat. She also inserted a teaching not backed by Scripture. When I reached that point, I skimmed the last of the book and deleted it from my kindle.
